We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join Spotify's Security team, that shares a common interest in distributed systems, their scalability and continued development, and information security. You will be part of building services that help keep our product, users, and employees secure and help teams continuously improve their security and engineering practices. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.

What you’ll do

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Spotify Security / risk data ecosystem and new strategies for measuring and visualizing how data works at Spotify.
  • Define metrics and build and analyze dashboards, reports and key datasets to drive data-informed security products and services.
  • Apply detailed analysis to understand workflows, data flows and processes.
  • Work closely with data scientists, product managers, designers, user researchers and engineers. As the only data scientist in Security, you'll be partnering with data scientists across the technology organization.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to key partners, helping to activate data standard methodologies and a data-first culture in Security.
  • Develop and innovate on our mixed-methods insights practice.
  • Work from our offices in Stockholm (With the current situation regarding COVID-19, this role will be remote until it's appropriate to work from the office).

Who you are

  • You have significant professional experience, and a degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics or another quantitative subject area.
  • You are a communicative person who values building positive relationships with colleagues and partners and enjoys mentor and teaching others
  • You know how to seek loosely defined problems and come up with meaningful answers and impactful insights.
  • You have an understanding of how to instrument products to accurately collect user and system behaviors through data for a wide variety of insight and product development use cases.
  • You have hands-on experience synthesizing insights from data using tools such as Python, R, BigQuery, SQL, Tableau.
