POSITION SUMMARY

The Machine Learning Engineer will focus on machine learning solutions. The Machine Learning Engineer will be part of the data science and machine learning initiatives to optimize ongoing efforts to drive improvements to the digital accessibility platform by applying knowledge and experience to solve real-world problems with AI/ML team, using machine learning and artificial intelligence to make the web more accessible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform data analyses on and discover new uses for existing data sources
• Develop and evaluate the performance of predictive statistical models and machine learning algorithms
• Create and interpret strategic and operational analyses, assess options objectively, and present conclusions and recommendations to all levels of management
• Partner with management and business units on innovative ways to successfully utilize data
• Gain and master a comprehensive understanding of operations, processes, and business objectives
• Build novel technology features such as automated remediation systems, human in the loop systems, and chatbots
• Work with Director of Machine Learning, product team, and operational stakeholders to assess potential machine learning and AI solutions
• Develop exploratory data analysis approaches to verify initial hypotheses associated with potential AI/ML use cases
• Apply in-depth EDA to create models that meet or exceed the thresholds required to deliver on the use case
• Develop, document, and deploy trained models (both automated and human-in-the-loop) into production, and monitor model performance

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Competency Statement(s)

• Knowledge in machine learning methods including at least one of the following: Time series analysis, Cluster analysis, and generalized linear models, or neural networks
• Experience with Python: NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, SciKit-Learn, PyTorch, and Conda
• Experience working with database systems (SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience working with AWS (Redshift or similar data warehouses)
• Experience with unstructured data sets: text analytics, image recognition, audio analysis, etc
• Ability to quickly develop, foster, and influence relationships as well as navigate large complex organizations
• Ability to apply machine learning, statistical, or econometric models to solve important business challenges
• Experience in a variety of machine learning and data science techniques, with a practical understanding of their real-world advantages/drawbacks

Education: Master’s Degree

Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in a machine learning role

Computer Skills: Python: NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, SciKit-Learn, PyTorch, and CondaSQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, MongoDB
