Software Data Engineer - Full remote working

At this moment lastminute.com Group is looking for a Software Data Engineer for its Metasearch Business Unit based in Chiasso, Switzerland.

He/she will construct, develop, optimize and maintain complex data structures taking relevant decisions about technologies and development strategies according to the other senior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Data ingestion from partners using API or static files
  
  

• Data manipulation and aggregation to generate core data for product
  
  

• ETL for analysis and report creation
  
  

• Internal support for other teams
  
  
  
  

Essential

• 3+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in Java, Python or Scala, making extensive use of unit, functional and integration tests
  
  

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  
  

• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented design, patterns, algorithms and data structures
  
  

• Good knowledge of Apache Spark framework
  
  

• Good knowledge of SQL databases
  
  

• Experience in writing code for multi-threaded systems taking into account memory/computation constraints
  
  

• Basic knowledge of Unix
  
  

• Basic knowledge of Git or other equivalent version control tool
  
  

• Basic knowledge of Maven, SBT or other equivalent build tool
  
  

Desirable

• Basic knowledge of Statistics and Machine Learning
  
  

• Experience in programming with Python using libraries such as NumPy, Pandas and Scikit-learn
