Technology People are partnering with APA Group, an ASX top 40 firm to expand their Technology Team to meet the challenges of the future. APA own and/or operates a $21 billion portfolio of gas, electricity, solar and wind assets across Australia. Over the past decade, APA have supported and invested around $750m in renewable energy projects across Australia with more to come, the right people in the Technology Team are key to supporting the energy transformation.

Exciting opportunity for Principal Data and Analytics Engineer to play key role working closely with senior stakeholders.

Location flexible Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Responsibilities Will Include
  • Working within a high performing team
  • Looking at different issues across the business could be anything from new technology, roadmap, machine learning
  • Do everything from data engineering, data pipelines, build, ETL, data staging, architecture, looking at processing of data, how do we process large amounts of data
  • You will be a self starter and able to work across different things
  • Provide innovative fast moving solutions that provide business benefit
  • You will enjoy a challenge and working across different projects and initiatives
  • You will act as an internal consultant to the business
  • Technical leadership including coaching and mentoring
  • Collaborate with others working in Agile environment
  • Be regarded as the SME and expert

Only Candidates With The Following Skills Should Apply
  • Strong experience working as a Principal Data Engineer
  • Experience working across different technologies, architectures across data domain and data transformation
  • Experience working with ETL and data integration, data transformation and data lakes
  • Any experience working with big data and streaming data architectures highly regarded
  • Hands-on experience with modern, cloud native and open source system frameworks such as AWS (S3, Redshift), Azure (Synapse Azure ML, Spark), Hadoop, Spark etc
  • Programming skills with Python, R or similar
  • Experience with Power BI or tableau highly regarded
  • Experience working in internal consulting role highly regarded
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Self starter
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • Product centric mindset
  • Eager to learn new things
  • Demonstrate Leadership qualities
