About the role:

We're currently seeking Data Scientists to join our rapidly growing Data Science and Analytics (DSA) team - ones that have a passion for working with real world data to derive actionable insights. Successful candidates for the role will work with clients and internal stakeholders to define, prototype, and produce custom solutions using state-of-the-art big data platforms, analytics, and machine learning.

The ideal candidate will have a background in a quantitative field and have experience with large datasets, the Hadoop ecosystem, statistics/analysis, and client-facing activities. They will be enthusiastic, creative, and results-focused. You will have the opportunity to work across varying sets of data with a variety of clients.

Who you are:

  • You are passionate about data science and love to solve challenging modeling work using a data driven approach
  • Intermediate to advanced fluency in any SQL databases - Hive, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
  • Fluency with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning methods as well as extensive professional experience with statistical programming languages/packages (R, SAS, Scipy/Numpy/Scikit-learn)
  • 2+ years of experience with supervised machine learning algorithms and their application to large data sets
  • 2+ years of experience in data pipelining, preprocessing, modeling, and analyzing big datasets
  • Familiar with Unix/Linux systems and command-line interfaces and editors
  • amiliar with the AWS ecosystem
What you'll be doing:

  • Define, build, and present models and actionable insights to C-suite executives across a wide range of industries
  • Ingest, manipulate and model large datasets using supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to help define the structure of the customer base
  • Produce prototypes, POCs, and/or APIs to serve models and their outcomes
  • Collaborate on projects with some guidance from senior associates and managers
  • Independently determine and perform most data science tasks as required
  • Effectively communicate insights and findings to technical and business teams
Nice to have:

  • Some experience with interactive visualization of data in Shiny, D3 or Dash
  • Specific experience with the following programming languages: Scala and/or Apache Spark
  • Some applied experience with ANN frameworks like: Tensorflow, Keras, Torch, Mxnet, etc
  • Produce client ready output for external stakeholders
