JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State IT is currently seeking a Data Analyst to support the University’s Salesforce Health Cloud initiative. The Data Analyst’s primary responsibilities will be collaborating with application administrators, developers and other team members to gather and analyze data from various databases and sources, develop reports, summaries, recommendations, and visual representations, and provides guidance, recommendations and technical assistance to a wide variety of team members. This position is fully remote within the United States. Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone.
Primary duties will include:
Supporting the Health Cloud initiative by establishing processes and procedures for extracting, compiling, analyzing, and presenting relevant data
Collaborating with stakeholders and leadership to identify and prioritize reporting needs
Leading retrieval and analysis of data from multiple sources to track progress of key indicators
Preparing reports and dashboards that present complex data analyses to assist key stakeholders in making decisions
Comparing consistency of data against other data sources and apply stringent QA processes to ensure accuracy
Establishing automated procedures for recurring reporting and dashboards
Utilizing project management skills within a collaborative team environment in support of complex data analytical projects and efforts
Building analytic capabilities with other team members and stakeholders through guidance, consultation, and training
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher plus 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in addition to the following skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively deliver internal and external messaging
Technical skills (SQL, Tableau, PowerBI or similar, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) for mining data, analysis and presentation applications
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to break down problems and analyze large datasets
Ability to efficiently multitask and deliver on stakeholder asks in a timely fashion
Self-directed with the ability to thrive in an unstructured environment, comfortable with ambiguity
Previous Salesforce experience required
Work with many stakeholders and deliver to demanding timelines
Salesforce certifications preferred
Experience with Agile/Scrum project management methodologies preferred
Previous experience with Peoplesoft Campus Solutions, SAP S/4 HANA, or Workday is preferred
