Day to Day Activity
Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
Managing users and user roles.
Investigating the use of system APIs and writing code to pull relevant data.
Building scalable and efficient tools to process large volumes of data to identify user behaviour that may be detrimental to Grab’s business.
Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary.
Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets.
Helping develop reports and carry out analysis.
Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalisation.
Assessing tests and implementing new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems.
Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports.
Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.
Training end-users on new reports and dashboards.
Providing technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Data Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
Ability to analyse existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
Ability to translate technical ideas and solutions so they can be easily understood by a non-technical audience.
High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases.
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
Understanding of addressing metadata standards.
High-level written and verbal communication skills.
Structured Query Language (SQL).
Ability to code in Python.
Data Visualisation skills.
A good understanding of Machine Learning.
Nice to Have:
Hands-on experience with the ELK Stack.
Experience with Spark.
A good understanding of Cloud technologies.
AWS DevSecOps experience.
Experience with Insider Threat risk management.
SPARK = unified data analytics engine for large scale data processing.
ELK Stack = Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana.
