As the Data Analyst, you will act as the Analytical expert to support Government Operations (M&R & C&S). You will drive business insights to measure program and segment performance, investigate key business problems through quantitative analytics, forecasting, and machine learning methodologies. You'll work closely with business leaders to develop innovative analytic solutions, create actionable insights and drive better decisions and performance to help Government Operations to fulfill its mission.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop analytical model to analyze and monitor program performance including Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Care Coordination Program, Dual Special Needs Plan (DSNP) Care Coordination Program, Billing & Enrollment, Claims, and Encounter Operations. Derive business insights and actionable recommendations to improve program outcomes
  • Develop machine learning and predictive models to profile segment populations. Deep dive into program gaps & opportunities by creating linkage of all related data (membership, Operational metrics, network adequacy, etc.) to identify improvement and remediation actions
  • Lead projects to completion by contributing to database creation, report and dashboard development and automation, forecast, what-if scenarios and statistical modeling
  • Formulate hypothesis, develop queries and models to evaluate hypothesis and formulate solutions to drive process improvement
  • Lead SG&A / cost efficiency efforts through quality remediation and process improvement data deep dive, identify and execute on new opportunities for increases in efficiencies and performance
  • Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, projects and/or approaches

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing SQL and/or relational database tools
  • 3+ years of experience performing data analysis
  • 3+ years of work experience in a corporate setting
  • Proficient skills in Excel and PowerPoint experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advance degree
  • 3+ years of operational experience
  • Experience in data process map, workflow, user acceptance testing, and database management
  • Oracle / SQL Server database experience
  • Experience in healthcare-based corporation (MCO)
  • Previous experience with advanced analytical tools (Python / R / Tiger Graph)
  • Previous experience with Healthcare Exchange / Marketplace / Medicaid / Medicare
  • Basic level of proficiency with Tableau / Talend / Crystal Reports

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
