OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

Provides reporting and analysis by retrieving and manipulating data from a variety of sources with the 4 practice management systems, and Microsoft Office tools. Under the supervision of the Manager of Claims Technical Services, works closely with operations and finance teams to meet their information needs and address their system application issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Employee will consistently exhibit behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.
  • Represents the Company in a professional manner, following all Company policies and procedures.
  • Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through analysis.
  • Responsible for month end close and associated month end reporting including, but not limited to, financial reports, RCM metrics, and denial management reports.
  • Create ad hoc reports as requested to meet user information needs.
  • Update annual fee schedules.
  • Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through analysis.
  • Develop recommended business solutions through research and analysis of data and business process and implement when appropriate.
  • Assist with conducting business process assessments to identify where improvement is needed.
  • Prepare and maintain reports of key performance measures.
  • Review and analyze results to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop a library of metrics, methods, reports, results and recommendations.
  • Complete routine and complex data analysis projects, process mapping and modeling.
  • Execute special analysis projects concurrently with regularly scheduled reporting responsibilities.
  • Provide ad hoc project management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Must have consistent, punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Entry of new providers and updates to existing providers in appropriate databases.
  • Performs updates and maintenance on practice management databases to ensure databases are configured so billing is submitted timely and accurately.
  • Works with end-users individually or in small group settings to improve their ability to utilize system capabilities.
  • Communicate system and claim formatting issues to appropriate leadership team.
  • Serve as a resource to staff on system billing processes.
  • Employee will use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Employee will perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • 1 or 2 years if post-high school education or a degree from a two-year college.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years’ experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Two years’ experience in database setup and maintenance.
  • Experience in Allscripts, Athena, EMD or E-Clinical Works, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Computer literate.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and implement solutions.
  • Ability to understand the business needs behind the requests and to drive results.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced, energetic, results-oriented environment.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with all levels of management and teammates.
  • Ability to develop recommendations, strategies, and tactics based on analyses.
  • Able to lead small teams and work efforts in a matrix environment.
  • Working knowledge of Healthcare and Medical group business areas (clinical, operations, care management, capitation) is a plus.
  • Excel power user with advanced spreadsheet management/modeling skills and the ability to easily manipulate large volumes of data, build and use advanced macros/pivot tables, etc.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
