The Competitive Intelligence Specialist is responsible for sourcing competitive insights, tracking changes in market conditions, and maintaining regular reporting. This position will support multiple vendor relationships, most notably with Nielsen and IRI, and be tasked with being an expert user of the vendor-supplied tools and dashboards. The position will report to the Competitive Intelligence Manager and work closely with cross-functional Team Members across various business units.
Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
Experience Desired: Retail environment (ideally grocery), retail data and KPIs, competitive intelligence analytics vendors like Nielsen or IRI, report building, and process improvement.
Education Desired: Bachelors Degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field
Work closely with key external vendor partners like Nielsen and IRI, becoming an expert user in the vendor-supplied tools and dashboards, and regularly reviewing industry reports and market trends
Report against Giant Eagles go-to-market strategy and value positioning benchmarked against key competitors, present learnings to Competitive Intelligence Manager, and improve processes for collecting and sharing competitive information
Work closely with analyst teams across pricing, promotion, category strategy, and merchandising to provide the necessary support and competitive intelligence inputs into the various planning process associated with each area of the business
Enhance existing analytics skillset and competitive expertise continuously by learning new tools, studying best-in-class retailers, researching market trends, etc.
Support special projects and complete miscellaneous analysis as needed
