Data Scientist

To leverage advanced analytics, statistical techniques, and machine learning to enhance policing productivity, effectiveness and contribute to public safety.

They will lead on developing and implementing data science products to address complex policing challenges, as well as providing analytical insights and predictive analyses to support evidence-based strategic and operational decisions.

A Police Scotland Data Scientist will communicate technical findings to both expert and non-specialist stakeholders, providing technical advice to support policy development and operational improvements.

They will drive the organisation’s data maturity by championing data-driven decision-making and fostering a culture of innovation in analytics and data science.

They will ensure that we continue to innovate ethically, bridging the gap between advanced data science techniques and practical policing outcomes in a secure, responsible, and transparent manner
