Job description

We are currently seeking a Data Scientist (m|f|d) in BPS Separation Consumable Technologies for our Product Development based at our headquarters in Goettingen, Germany (Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH ). In this role you are responsible for the analysis of process data, process optimization, development and support of data infrastructure for process and lab data in the area of Product Development.

What you will accomplish together with us

  • Working with stakeholders throughout the Product Development to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive development of new products

  • Mine and analyze process data to drive optimization and improvement of product development

  • Support and develop data infrastructure for process and lab data

  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques

  • Using predictive modeling to increase and optimize operational and product development experience

  • Support design of experiments, test hypotheses and model building

  • Interact with different development teams to implement models and monitor outcomes

What will convince us

  • Successfully completed studies in physics, chemistry, informatics, computer science or related field

  • Excellent knowledge of machine learning (AI), data mining and multivariate data analysis methods

  • Several years work experience in industry (process, pharmaceutical, bio- or chemical preferred) is highly desirable

  • Experience in analyzing large datasets using (relational/SQL or non-SQL) databases

  • Good knowledge of process historians

  • Good programming skills (Python preferred)

  • Demonstrable ability to quickly understand new concepts and to come out with original solutions to mathematical issues

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Team player

  • Excellent German and English (spoken and written)
