As a Data Engineer you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by increasing the speed and confidence in making data-driven decisions based on consistent and trustworthy consolidated data. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 6 people in the Consumer Markets division. Your colleagues will include Data Architects and Data Engineer professionals.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Work with technology and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
• Create low-level design artifacts, including mapping specifications.
• Build scalable and reliable data pipelines to support data ingestions (batch/streaming) and transformation from multiple data sources using SQL, AWS, Snowflake, and data integration technologies
• Create unit/integration tests and implement automated build and deployment.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure standards and best practices.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems.
• Create and update user stories in backlog
• Collaborate with product owner, analysts, architects, QA and other team members

The Experience You Will Bring

• Minimum 1 year hands on ELT /ETL development experience using Matillion,
• Minimum 1 year hands on experience working with SQL and Snowflake database
• Hands on Experience (not just training or POC) in using Git and Python
• Strong communication skills
• BS Degree: IT or Computer Science or Engineering
• 2+ years of data engineering experience

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Experience coding complex transformations (not just extract/load mappings) in Matillion
• Experience working with Azure Dev Ops, Build and Release pipelines
• Experience working with AWS and Control M
• Data Engineer Certificate from AWS/Azure helpful

Base Pay Range

The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$85,100.00 - $106,400.00 - $138,400.00
