Python / Apache Airflow – Run Support – 24/7

What will the engagement involve?

Working as part of a critical Run Support team that looks after the world's first Supercomputing services hosted within Microsoft Azure

Technical scope:

The Run team is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the of a tool that migrates data into a number of key Supercomputer application on a 24/7 basis.

The team will start on a 9-5 basis Monday to Friday, before transitioning to 24/7 later in 2023 when the full service goes live.

What type of experience does the Python/Apache Airflow Developer need to be successful in this role?

• Strong experience of Python, Apache Airflow and Azure DevOps
• Strong experience of developing data solutions
• Azure Data Lake
• Azure Data Factory / SSIS
• Azure Data Box
• Database / Warehousing
• Power BI
• Proficiency in SQL and / or Spark
• Cloud Platform (Azure)
• Proven experience in ETL/ELT (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse)
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, principles and practices
• Experience with business requirements analysis
• Technical experience within the MS Azure technology stack

Does the Python/Apache Airflow Developer role require travel?

The role is currently 100% remote working, however - it is a 'nice-to-have' if you are able to travel into Microsoft offices in Reading on occasions.
