About our group:

The Operations and Technology Advanced Analytics Group (OTAAG) Data Scientist’s assist any organisation within Seagate interested in getting more value from their data through analytics.

About the role:

12-week Data Scientist Paid Internship due to commence Spring/ Summer 2021. This position is ideally suited to MSc Data Science/ Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning students seeking an Industrial Project to help complete their MSc.
We will provide mentorship from our Team of experienced Data Scientists to help complete the project. This is the 3rd year of the Program and previous candidates have all achieved a distinction mark for their project work from their University.

  • You will:
  • Leverage or develop innovative Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methods to solve a Time Series Anomaly Detection problem within Semiconductor Manufacturing
  • Quantify the effectiveness and value of your innovations with subject matter experts
  • Help to translate your insights about complex issues into simple explanations and visualizations to aid understanding by a wide range of audiences
  • Work within an Experienced Data Science Team for the duration of your Internship

About you:

  • Currently undertaking an MSc in Data Science/ Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning
  • Qualified in a relevant Mathematics, Science, Analytics, or Engineering discipline

Your experience includes:

  • Developing algorithms and visualizations using modern analytical techniques in Artificial Intelligence, Machine, and Deep Learning
  • Using some of the following: R, Python, KNIME, SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Java, AWS, Tensorflow
  • Building some of these: Regression/ Classification Models, CNNs, Autoencoders, LSTM

You may also have:

  • Experience working with very large data sets.
  • Have carried out Time Series anomaly detection
