The PIIX Data and Analytics Chapter ambition is to be the best in class Data and Analytics organization. We are a global team of data scientists, data engineers and data analysts. We develop a deep understanding of science, technology, and the Roche business. We support Roche and stakeholders to make decisions that improve patient outcomes. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for creating value from data assets using advanced analytics capabilities, such as data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence methods, to identify critical business risks and opportunities for Roche. You will define use cases, frame analytical solutions and implement analysis to drive business impact and develop state-of-the-art analytical capabilities to address identified needs. You are a subject matter expert on analytics, data, and measurement. You will focus on data innovations exploration and implementation. Having an established academic background, you will help build collaborations with top global research institutions and Roche.
In this role you will be accountable to consistently and effectively:
Evaluate, drive and implement innovations from concept to minimum viable product and final product;
Apply analytical and statistical methods to solve identified use cases in an agile manner using multiple data sources and analytical tools;
Collaborate within cross-functional teams to develop solutions, gain alignment and deliver impactful business insights; engage necessary stakeholders to enable better decision-making;
Openly share perspective and insights to elevate team thinking and drive a balanced, holistic point of view; effectively weigh and communicate trade-off considerations;
Take an enterprise mindset, linking individual responsibilities with the broader organization; focus on outcomes that provide most business value
Who you are
You are someone who wants to influence your own development. You are looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies and where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point.
You have a Master Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics; PhD is regarded as a plus. Previous analytical experience is preferred. You have project implementation and/or due diligence experience using advanced analytics. You have experience with working with academic institutions and you bring a strong network within the data science and analytics community. An existing track record of peer-reviewed publications in the field is a plus.
In addition, you bring the following skills and competencies:
Experience identifying insights and interpreting risks/opportunities with financial and/or commercial data. You have exceptional problem-solving and strategic agility abilities;
Proficiency in Machine learning (Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision). Experience in contemporary Deep Learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Proficiency in Statistics (Hypothesis Testing, Time Series) and Econometrics (A/B Testing, Panel Data Analysis)
Extensive experience with functional and object oriented programming (Python, R, C /C++ etc.). Experience in Python package development. Experience with modern version control and CI/CD
Project experience with visualization tools (Tableau, R shiny, as well as Flask/Dash web applications development) and database (Hive, MS SQL Server, Oracle 11g,)
Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers and a good understanding of AutoML and use cases
Experience with MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, Cloud Services (AWS EC2, AWS S3)
Ability to influence without direct authority and to develop and maintain strong partnerships
Excellent communication skills, simplifying complex information into clear, synthesized insights and presenting them to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Peer-reviewed publication record is a plus
You have experience in working with global teams of cultural diversity
Impeccable ethics and integrity
Fluent spoken and written English is required, other languages skills are a plus.
