Position Summary: As a Data Engineer, you will be aligned with the Enterprise Data Insights team, working to use UBT’s data assets to support decision making, improve operational efficiency, deepen customer relationships, drive product innovation, and mitigate risk.
The Data Engineer is responsible for data modeling and the development of data integration solutions for loading data into an Enterprise Data Warehouse. Additionally, the Data Engineer will be responsible for importing, cleaning, transforming, or manipulating data to allow for purposeful decision making.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with the Data Insights team to create data models and develop data integrations and ETL packages to support the product roadmap and strategy for Enterprise Data Insights and supporting infrastructure.
- Implement data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging a cloud-based platform.
- Develop data quality automations to ensure the accuracy of the data delivered, develop automated integration testing to ensure code quality.
- Responsible for source code maintenance, continuous integrations, building, and packaging data pipelines using the tools provided.
- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
- Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
- Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications:
- 0-5 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying data integration solutions (for example, ETL packages with SSIS, Dell Boomi, or Azure Data Factory).
- 0-5 years of experience in SQL Server Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence Lifecycle with emphasis on ETL development.
- Strong background in programming within the SQL Server Development environment with ability to use these skills toward ETL development as and when needed.
- Database Management Systems experience required (for example, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2).
- SQL Data Warehouse or Azure SQL Data Warehouse experience preferred.
- Azure Analysis Services or SSAS experience preferred.
- Source code management experience preferred.
- Financial Services experience preferred.
