Job Summary

Are you an expert in Tableau who enjoys devising new ways to visualize data that tells a compelling story? Does fun mean the opportunity to spend a few hours using Teradata to write a complex SQL statement to transform a large volume of data into a simpler view to make it easier to understand? The CX Data and Analytics team in the West Division’s Operations group has an open Senior Analyst role in our Product Solutions team. Product Solutions is responsible for finding effective and scalable ways to deliver operational and scorecard metrics to the Operations organization that are quickly actionable and impactful. Using tools like Teradata and Tableau, the role is a mix of data engineering and visualization as we both provide data feeds of key metrics to internal customers as well as produce dashboards for thousands of agents, managers, and senior leaders in the West Division Operations team who rely on us for timely and accurate information that they need to run each of their teams as effectively and efficiently as possible. As a senior analyst, you’ll have independence to figure out the best way to deliver what’s needed to our end-users and help streamline the work that we do. We’ll rely on your technical creativity to figure out new and faster ways of providing information and visualizations to multiple stakeholders, and your interpersonal and communications skills to help bring those ideas to fruition by working with our partners and stakeholders. For new products/enhancements, you’ll contribute to requirements, assess what we currently have, write queries to get the data, and create visualizations that make the best use of resources and help the organization to understand how they are performing in key areas against established targets. When issues come up, we’ll lean on your data expertise to help determine the root cause and then either fix it or help explain to the correct group what’s going wrong so that it can be resolved. You’ll get to use your advanced knowledge of Tableau to help streamline our existing products and create new ones that are extensible and can support the many stakeholders we have. An ability to create visualizations that are audience appropriate and can quickly convey what happening to the user is super helpful. Finally, you’ll bring a desire to share with others on the team your learnings and knowledge to help everyone improve.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Writes complex SQL to query large data platforms such as Teradata to obtain data necessary for analysis. Combines data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis.
  • Uses advanced Tableau skills and knowledge to create, publish and maintain complex and compelling visualizations.
  • Collaborates with both the analytic organization and its technology partners to define and publish complex data products.
  • Provides training to and acts as technical resource for team members.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in one or more data subject areas such as sales, call center, network operation and financial data.
  • Serves as a team leader within a work group or on cross-functional teams; accepts team lead stretch assignments. Presents results, recommendations and business insights to broader senior leadership team.
  • Produces a variety of reports, graphs, summaries and presentations that convey analytic results and align with business needs.
  • Performs research on root cause of data anomalies that are uncovered
  • Participates in defining business intelligence requirements for projects and data requests.
  • Participates in multiple enterprise wide projects by providing data analysis to project leaders.
  • Follows best practices and established policies in business intelligence data analysis, maintenance and data quality
  • Creates technical documentation (internal).
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Bachelor's Degree
