The Opportunity

We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented graduate or junior Data Analyst to join our Business Analytics team. This entry-level role is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their knowledge in analytics, within a fast-growing, data-rich environment. Initially the role will focus on ensuring the integrity and reliability of our data across a variety of domains, enabling senior analysts to focus on delivering high-impact, value-driven insights. Over time and with mentorship from our experienced Data team, you will have opportunities to get involved in analysing data and distilling insights that will support stakeholders with decision making across the business (Product, Growth, Operations, etc). The ideal candidate will take ownership of all data governance activities, ensuring that stakeholders across the organisation have access to accurate, consistent, and dependable insights.

This is a full time, permanent role. The successful candidate will have a hybrid working arrangement, with 2 days per week expected in the office in Central London.

What You'll Do

Data Governance

• Execute a range of data governance tasks, including managing our repository of reports/dashboards, archiving redundant reports, managing definitions for fields and key metrics in reporting, and adapting reports/dashboards impacted by changed or deprecated fields
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to monitor data quality and work with relevant teams to resolve data inconsistencies and errors
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to data definitions, standards, and processes on Confluence
• Answer simple ad-hoc reporting requests from Service Desk tickets
  
  
  

Data Validation and Integrity

• Conduct regular data audits to ensure data integrity and reliability across all business systems
• Implement and manage data validation rules and tools to minimise errors and discrepancies
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure the proper implementation of data quality controls
  
  
  

Stakeholder Support

• Serve as the primary point of contact for data governance-related inquiries and issues
• Provide training and support to stakeholders on data governance best practices and tools - taking ownership over the Metabase Tips and Tricks initiative as well as supporting new starters with Metabase onboarding
• Assist in the creation of user guides and training materials to improve data literacy across the organisation
  
  
  

Supporting the Senior Analysts

• Work closely with senior analysts to support their analytical needs by providing clean, reliable data
• Contribute to the development of reports and dashboards by ensuring the accuracy and availability of underlying data
  
  
  

What You'll Bring To HeliosX

• We're looking for a smart, highly numerate graduate or a junior analyst still at the start of their career looking to transition into an analytics role within a high growth, start/scale up business
• A strong academic track record with a numerate degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, etc)
• Some experience in, or a passion for, extracting insights from data and associated data governance/management that makes impactful analysis possible at scale
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets; high levels of data literacy and comfort working with large data sets
• A passion for learning and a desire to build your data analytics practice in high growth, fast-paced business
• While not a requirement, prior experience with business intelligence tools and/or programming languages commonly used in data analysis would be considered an advantage (Metabase, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake, Google Analytics, SQL, Python, etc)
