Internship - Data scientist

RINA is currently recruiting for Data Scientist Interns to join its office in Genoa (Italy) within the Global Integrated Digital Services Division. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, enjoy professional development opportunities, access cutting-edge technologies, and make a meaningful impact on innovative projects.

Mission

You will engage with a diverse team to develop innovative data-driven solutions that drive business transformation. You will contribute to projects spanning both technology and non-technology areas, working closely with data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, designers, and project managers. This role offers hands-on experience, extracting actionable insights and delivering impactful outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contributing actively to all stages of projects
• Support the development and delivery of analytical solutions, including code and models
• Assist in designing and implementing data science models and solutions to address challenges for internal teams and external clients
• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and insights, and translate them into actionable plans
  
  
  

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or Computer Engineering

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Statistics

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, MSc or PhD degree with an expected graduation date in 2025 in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering
• Knowledge of data science and machine learning methods, with a focus on solving practical problems
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and robust code in Python
• Problem-solving skills with a methodical and creative approach
• Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical concepts to non-specialists
• Collaborative team player with a preference for working in dynamic, team-oriented settings
• Fluent in Italian and English
