Data Scientist

Marpipe is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to help support our rapidly-growing user base of creatives and marketers. You will report to Marpipe's CTO, and will partner directly with our engineering and product teams to uncover and drive actionable insights, influence decision making, and apply a data lens to business problems critical to our growth. What You Get To Do:

  • Work on high impact business metric-related data science problems, such as revenue forecasting, customer behavior modeling and customer segmentation, and developing new data structures to support analyses
  • Leverage data science methods such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and causal inference to understand user behavior and optimize the product experience
  • Ensure that Marpipe has access to analyses and models that assist with executive-level and cross-organizational business growth and product feature investment decisions
  • Lead analytical efforts to develop scalable and methodologically thorough approaches to testing, forecasting, and other applications of advanced analytics.
  • Generate ideas to creatively leverage data for shaping future product roadmaps
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy and relevance of data and deliverables
  • Drive democratization of data through creation of new datasets and tooling
  • Drive the design, build, and launch of new data models and data pipelines in production
  • Design and surface metrics to guide decision making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Design, Sales, and Marketing

What You Bring To The Role:

  • 3+ years experience as a Data Scientist; experience with complex data models, quantitative methods and data science tools, as well as deploying models to production
  • Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL
  • Experience building and maintain basic data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)
  • Experience with time series data and machine learning on large datasets, including knowledge around statistical and machine learning models including assumptions and limitations
  • Experience with scripting language, such as Python or R,
  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
  • Exposure to cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with Git or similar tool for version control
  • Ability to break down quantitative findings from historical data and experiments into meaningful insights and develop recommendations that lead to informed decision-making
  • Domain knowledge of the end-to-end consumer journey, including demonstrated ability to form questions and design supporting analysis
  • Hunger and passion for helping the business ask the right questions to ensure that data deliverables are aligned to success
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills, along with a self-starting mindset and strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, comfortable with ambiguity; you enjoy figuring out what needs to be done—and then doing it!
