We are looking for experienced professionals to join our Data Growth & Operations (DGO) directorate as Data Engineers, helping to fulfil their objectives of building tools, services and pipelines to make data available to our Data Analysts & Scientists in a timely, consistent, auditable and reproducible way.
You will provide pivotal programming support to a busy, expanding team developing & delivering crucial routines that import, validate and structure key administrative data that’s vital to ONS completing our wider duties.
Not an experienced Data Engineer, but still interested? Don’t worry! We’re broadly interested in Software Engineering, DevOps, Data Analysis & Data Science backgrounds for these roles as well as pure Data Engineering.
You’ll be experienced handling & manipulating very large data sets, utilising a variety of data engineering tools and techniques. It’s also vital you have experience utilising Python (specifically PySpark) and SQL.
In addition to this, you’ll be able to work effectively in a busy team, you’re happy liaising with stakeholders with various levels of seniority & technical literacy and you’re familiar with Agile delivery.
