The Opportunity
The current limitations of Semiconductors in the world have created a need for a new way of thinking within our electronics hardware teams. Long term the need of advanced electronics and thereby semiconductors will continue to grow in order to support our business. JLR are looking to establish a semiconductor engineering data team, this team will support engineering and purchasing to manage a common set of semiconductors throughout the vehicle. The team will work across all of product engineering to establish, manage, maintain a full bill of material database for all our vehicles
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- The primary activity of this role it to provide data analysis of the full semiconductor bill of materials for Jaguar Land Rover
- To support the team collating data around the JLR semiconductor use
- Working with the data to support supply chain and material fulfilment teams, together with other specialist areas of the business responsible for export control and sanctions requirements.
- Interpret, consume, manipulate and accurately manage a significant set of semiconductor data and its use across our product portfolio. Use this data to build strategy for supplier engagement, future use forecasts etc.
- Work with large data sets of semiconductor use, thousands of unique part numbers for current and future vehicles, multiplied into many millions of use cases
- Provide data analysis of the JLR semiconductor use to engineering teams, supporting sourcing agreements and future strategy requirements
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
Essential:
- Solid understanding of electrical, electronic and electromechanical components with firm understanding of electronic design principles.
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data
- Experience of excel and tableau tool sets, Dassault 3DS would be an advantage
- Problem solver with an agile way of working
- Motivated by change management and ability to drive change
- Strong communication skills from operational to executive level.
- Relationship and Network builder – internal and external
- Fast learner – with a curious mindset
- Business acumen and strategic mindset.
- Ability of being a strong team player in parallel of driving topics independently.
- University degree, preferably in engineering or business Personal Profile
