The Role


We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to work with Finance and Exec on an initial 3 month contract, working on investor level reporting.

As we now look ahead to our next level of funding, we need a meticulous, data-driven Finance wizard to work closely with C Level Management and prep them with the insights and data they need to secure this investment and showcase just how brilliant we are!


Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining Looker dashboards for your business area, and presenting insights from them. All team members at Railsbank use Looker to see business data.
  • You will be conducting cohort analysis and segmentation analysis - uncovering details and insights about our end customer base
  • Liaise directly with our CEO and CFO on these findings

What we look for in your professional skills

  • Degree educated, ideally in a STEM subject or strong professional experience in this area
  • Passion for making an impact for the business through data
  • Expert SQL experience
  • Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel experience
  • Great problem framing, problem solving & critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communicator, presenter and knowledge sharer (with internal, external, technical, non-technical audiences)
  • Dashboard building experience with BI Tools such as Looker (preferred), Tableau, Power BI
  • Data modelling experience (again, Looker preferred)
  • Experience with Python
  • Pro-active at pulling actionable insights from data to support decision making
  • Data exploration skills - ability to interrogate data to understand its structure and potential issues

You must have excellent communication skills (across all media) and possess the ability to ‘get things done’ in a flexible dynamic organisation. Able to work effectively, quickly and with a high level of accuracy in a fast-moving and rapidly changing environment.


Desirable
:

  • Experience in a FinTech, financial services or payments environment or experience within Consulting
  • CFA Certifications or MI Project Experience
  • LookML / Looker
  • Version control tools (e.g. GitLab, GitHub) & workflow
  • JIRA & agile methodology experience


Role location and hours


This is an initial 3 month contract role and, like many companies, Railsbank’s people are working at home due to Covid-19. Coming to our Central London office from time-to-time would be a huge bonus but not a deal breaker!
