About The Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. About You
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing and developing high quality technology solutions. The role works closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs and requirements and aligns these with the University’s direction. They will be part of the Business Intelligence (aka Data Platforms) team.
They will be responsible for all aspects ETL development & support using existing toolsets - WhereScape Red (ETL) & Data Virtualization tool – Denodo. Knowledge of cloud technologies and solutions, particularly AWS stack is desirable.
- 5+ years of designing and implementing ETL solutions.
- Responsible for building, enhancing and maintaining existing on-Premises ETL solutions on the Enterprise Data Warehouse (BIDW) & Virtual artefacts on Denodo.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to transform technical knowledge into business language and vice-versa.
They will come with excellent verbal and written communication skills to work well with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Power BI developers / report writers and business stakeholders.
