Better requires process, discipline, and simplification

As a member of the Risk Modeling & Statistics group, you will support the development of automated risk detection throughout our compliance program. You will leverage machine learning to identify Western Union locations, transactions, and customers that may be involved in money laundering or other illegal activity.

For this important role, you have a Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field and at least two years of professional experience as a Data Scientist (or in a comparable role). You code fluently in Python or R, and are proficient with SQL. You understand feature engineering, model selection/validation, and performance testing. You are familiar with using AWS to build machine learning pipelines, including the use of EC2, S3, Aurora, and Sagemaker – or have similar experience with Azure or GCP. Experience with Snowflake cloud data platform is a plus, as is experience with graph databases, like Neo4j or Neptune. You understand the basics of Agile, DevOps, and the usefulness of Kubernetes in a CI/CD paradigm. Above all, you are an exceptional teammate and collaborator.
