Provides advanced professional input to complex Business Analytics assignments/projects. Works in collaboration with business partners to provide analyses and reports to aide decision making based on data, facts, and analytical findings across different parts of the organization. Analyzes and interprets collected data, spots trends, writes reports and recommendations and completes data modeling. Supports and provides direction to more junior professionals. Works autonomously, only requiring “expert” level technical support from others. Exercises judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of both standard and complex techniques and procedures. Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and acumen to develop models and procedures, and monitor trends, within Business Analytics.
The Sales Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of a reporting and analytics environment within the Government Business Segment (GBS) Analytics organization to provide insights and inform decision making across to our key stakeholders. This role will partner closely with individuals from operations, IT, and other key matrix partners to define data requirements, design database structure, create transformation logic and implement validation checks to ensure data is accurate and available for analysts and partner analytics teams to leverage. In this role, you will provide expert content/professional leadership for complex Business Analytics assignments/projects. You will exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. You will use your deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders while focusing on providing thought leadership within Business Analytics. The person in this role will also work on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business concepts.
Act as a key subject matter expert (SME) for data within the reporting and analytics environment.
Develop and deliver complex analytics and reporting projects and/or solutions.
Integrate and analyze data from multiple sources and to create and support data assets for BI and analytical consumption.
Use strong programming skills to explore, examine and interpret large volumes of data in various forms.
Develop analytic solutions that meet the needs of the business.
Capture, shape, and deploy datasets from disparate data sources such as web scrapes and APIs.
Partner with cross functional teams within SDA and the Value streams to deliver repeatable and quality data assets that enable our business partners.
Ensure code is appropriately documented and can be understood by other analysts.
Ensure analytic approach and results are clearly understood by business partners.
Exhibit full understanding of data and leverage data in an appropriate way (correct sources, clear assumptions, approved by business)
A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, preferred
Experience working in Healthcare - Government Business/Medicare, preferred
Strong technical skills in data extraction, transformation and report generation
Knowledge of SQL, Teradata and SAS preferred
Salesforce experience highly preferred.
Tableau experience highly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills – v-lookups, macros, pivot tables, highly preferred.
Proven ability to manipulate, validate and interpret data from a variety of sources for analytic research and investigation
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Excellent collaboration and partnership skills with proven experience in managing multiple priorities and agility in adapting to change
Proven ability to work collaboratively in complex matrix organizations and agile teams
Ability to independently perform data analysis while managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines.
Strong communication skills to include written, oral, and group presentations.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
