Job Summary

This position will help drive the technological exploration of Machine Learning and related technologies to address current and future business opportunities in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. In addition will be responsible for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
  • Develops custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Works with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Mines and analyzes company and external datasets to drive predictions, micro, macro economical and regulatory trends.
  • Assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data wrangling techniques.
  • Develops processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Produces innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.
  • Applies knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries that drive business solutions.
  • Uses a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
  • Generates and tests hypotheses and analyzes and interprets the results.
  • Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Strong understanding of ML cloud services and infrastructure, including how to leverage them and experience with SaaS infrastructure technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Ability to quickly assimilate, organize, analyze, abstract, and synthesize large amounts of information and to make decisions based on this analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamically and changing environment.
  • Comfortable working with loosely defined requirements where you exercise your creativity and analytical skills to deliver best in class solutions.
Education And Training
  • Master’s degree (MS) in computer science or similar field.
  • Four (4) plus years of data science experience using machine learning.
  • Experience in data monetization projects.
  • Experience in economic and/or regulated business domains preferred.
  • Experience in solving complex real world problems (focus on economics, and regulatory industries) using advanced analytics, statistical analysis, machine learning, and algorithms that drive value realization.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
