Experienced in Data science and with strong expertise in statistics, the Data Scientist will be part of a multi-faceted data driven team. A strong story teller, you will have the ability to communicate data and insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Understanding complex and critical business problems while formulating integrated analytical approaches to mine data sources, you will employ statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to contribute to solving unmet medical needs, discover actionable insights and automate processes for reducing effort and time for repeated use. You will Integrate business presentations, smart visualization tools and contextual storytelling to translate findings back to business users with a clear impact while independently managing budget, ensuring appropriate staffing and coordinating projects within the area.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Product owner, with experience working in agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Plans proactively and anticipates and actively manages change. Strong communication and collaboration across the domain.
  • Ownership over your products and have a clear vision of their development, performance and purpose (end to end).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners and cross-functional teams to solve critical business problems
  • Research and co-develop with supervisor new algorithms, methods, statistical models and business models and providing insight into structured data.
  • Quickly learn the use of tools, data sources and analytical techniques needed to answer a wide range of critical business questions.
  • Support the evaluation of the need of technology and novel scientific software, visualization tools and new approaches to computation to increase efficiency and quality of the Novartis practices.
  • Independently identifies research articles and propose them for application to Novartis business problems
  • Develop automation for repeatedly refreshing analysis and generating insights.
  • Articulates solutions /recommendations to business users. Works with senior data science team member to present analytical content concisely and effectively.

Minimum Requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
  • 6+ years’ experience in Data or similar role.
  • Degree in Data Science, maths, physics or similar field.
  • Strong programming skills and knowledge of statistical programming languages such as Python, and database query languages such as SQL.
  • Strong applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators etc.
  • Excellent Mathematical skills (Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra)
  • Data Management expertise.
  • Experience with Data Visualisation Tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Streamlit, PlotlyDash, Bokeh and Flask.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to story tell technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands on experience with data science tools.
  • Predictive modelling.
  • Fluent English and Spanish.
