Data Scientist

The Data Scientist for the Richmond Health Network is the data custodian responsible for cleaning and analyzing data from various sources for the development, implementation and maintenance of dashboards and reporting needs across the Network. This individual will liaison between clinical operations, Information Technology Services, system users and vendors. This position required the use of different programming languages to work on projects based on user needs. Extracting data from where it resides in different systems. Using that to create effective reports that can appropriately communicate findings.

Key Responsibilities:

• The principal data custodian for data driving dashboards. Maintaining its integrity.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Work with large datasets from a variety of different sources. Normalize these datasets and investigate to discover areas of opportunities.
• Perform complex analysis of data and visualized results in an understanding and effective manner to different levels of the organization.
• Create and maintain dashboards high level interactive that provide information and highlight areas needing improvement.
• Works collaboratively with other staff on a variety of projects in a supporting or leadership role to collectively achieve goals and resolve issues.
• Accountable for maintaining the confidentiality and security of all administrative, financial and clinical data.
• Maintain EMR support and work closely with RUMC’s IT team and vendors to ensure maximum uptime and quality support.
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance to Richmond University Health Network policies and standards.
• Must have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate and work effectively with a variety of individuals and skill levels.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• BA/BS degree; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Minimum 1 year work experience preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Experience analyzing large data sets and creating reports that can be used to drive impactful decisions.
• Must be a critical thinker with the ability to analyze clinical data. Pulling meaningful insights that can drive informed decisions.
• Experience with report automation based on user specification and needs.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Macros skills

NOT REQUIRED BUT A PLUS

• Experience working with visualization software like Tableau or PowerBI
• Experience in one or more programming language ( VBA, Python , R, SQL)
