In this role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Search Data Scientist to join our Global Digital Media organization as a key member of our Integrated Search team. Working with the Paid and Organic search teams, you will play a key role in increasing our holistic search performance through strategic development of models, analytics and reporting for our external search engine vehicles. You will work closely with the search teams as well as our marketing's insights & analytics teams, providing data-driven insights to optimize search engine visibility, increase highly relevant traffic, and drive qualified demand to our partners and sales teams.


  • Conduct in-depth analysis of large data sets related to paid and organic search channels to find opportunities for optimization, growth, and efficiency.
  • Use statistical and AI/ML techniques to develop predictive models that inform keyword and page selection, content creation, bidding strategies, and ad targeting.
  • Design dashboards and reports that align to Cisco Marketing's objectives and enable tracking to key performance indicators, such as keyword rankings and share of search, traffic and conversions, sales demand, and return on investment.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making and to answer business questions related to organic and paid search channels.
Who you will work with:

  • Collaborate with SEO & Paid Search strategists, as well as cross-channel teams including Social and Programmatic to implement data-driven recommendations and optimize search engine visibility.
  • Partner with insights & analytics data scientists and analysts, sales teams, and technology partners to develop models, data connectors, and visualization dashboards for digital marketing teams to action against.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, or related field.
  • 6+ years of B2B or SaaS experience.
  • Proficiency with statistical modeling, NoSQL databases, data mining, and AI/ML algorithms.
  • Deep knowledge of search engine algorithms (you understand how Rankbrain, BERT, and MUM impact search) and have working knowledge of SEO/PPC standard methodologies.
  • The advancement of Generative AI and the impact on user behavior and go to market strategies excites you and stimulates curiosity to unlock new possibilities.
  • Experience working with large-scale search engine data sets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Google Data Studio.
  • Experience with Google Search Console, Brightedge, Deepcrawl, SEMRush, Google AdWords.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Splunk.
  • Experience in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Snowflake, Excel, SQL, R, and Python.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
  • Superb communication and collaboration skills.
