Quality Improvement and Data Analyst

Position Overview


The Operational Excellence (OpX) team partners with patients, leaders and care providers across the hospital and its community to drive positive change in the areas of quality, patient safety, and financial sustainability. We are seeking a Quality Improvement and Data Analyst to lead quality improvement projects in our Transitional Care Department. This role will also support quality improvement for our Medicine Department, including the data management and submission process for participation in the GEMINI study (https://www.geminimedicine.ca/about). This role will work in close partnership and collaboration with the Transitional Care and Medicine Departments.


This role is a permanent full-time position.


Education


  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Health Sciences, or equivalent field.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field is an asset.
  • Certificate or formal training in Python coding is required.


Experience


  • 2 years of quality improvement or data analysis experience in a healthcare setting
  • Proven skills coding in Python and experience with automating data extractions and reporting.
  • Strong team facilitation skills – able to provide multi-disciplinaryteam members with clarity on project goals and a pathway to achieve success
  • Excellent time management skills – can effectively manage multiple projects and address competing demands on the basis of priority
  • Excellent capabilities with Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written – can succinctly convey the salient messages imbedded in large information sets
