Who are we?
We're the UK's largest water provider, with over 15 million customers to serve every day. Water is essential to daily life, and that means our business is always open. We make a difference daily to millions of customers by supplying 2.7 billion litres of water to around 10 million homes. Our main role is to ensure customers can turn on the tap and get world-class drinking water 24/7. We also safely transport and treat waste, returning it to the environment.
We are currently installing hundreds of thousands of smart meters to drive consumption insights helping our customers manage water more effectively. These meters generate millions of lines of data and we need a team of skilled resources to manage this data and generate the analytical insight necessary to bring consumption to life.
About the role:
The Senior Data Analyst will be required to work with the Service Delivery leads, internal business stakeholders, and the delivery partners to track the smart metering rollout plan including campaign management.
This will require an assessment of the customer’s property, meter base, asset base, communication modes availability, regulatory commitments, stock availability, and budget. The role will be central in working with the Data Manager and Smart Metering Operations Centre (SMOC) team to develop an optimal Plan for our different metering streams which provides the best possible outputs and outcomes for Thames Water and our customers.
The role requires us to continuously assess the data output from field surveys and installed completed, other program activities, and processes to improve our forecasting methodologies for both near and long-term planning. The outputs from these will be used as part of the regulatory Water Resource Management Plans (WRMP), Price Review for the long term, and in short term will help the Service Delivery Team to forecast the yearly budget.
The senior data analyst will be required to analyse, create, and present insight to the SMOC strategy manager and the wider business to help identify any inefficiencies and provide recommendations to deal with those.
