The Resources Authority Register Project is looking for an experienced and motivated Principal Data Analyst. This exciting project will establish a new, enterprise ecosystem the whole Department can benefit from. For the first time, the Department will have a single solution for the complete end-to-end view of Resource Authorities. A contemporary cloud-based customer portal will be available for the Resources Industry to apply and manage their Resource Authorities online. The successful candidate will lead the data cleansing and data migration core activities to enable the move from the current My Mine Online (MMOL) solution into the new solution for the project. This role will be part of a small, very experienced project team and will be working with vendors. You will be experienced in working within a fast-paced project environment that is large and complex.
Develop a data cleansing and data migration roadmap for the project
Undertake data profiling activities to assist in defining the above roadmap and plan for data cleansing
Development of business rules to ensure quality data is input into Resource Authority Registers solution
Undertake business engagement to implement data related business rules
Undertake all related data analyst activities such as the below:
Read and write SQL queries to understand the current and future state and any current transformation of the data
Understand and document which business areas use what data and which reports are required/when/and who receives them
Current MMOL data structure and documenting what fields are used in the current system and reports
Understanding which fields are redundant or replicated and can be merged
Map which data needs to be included in the migration e.g., what needs to go into the new solution and what needs to go into the database or be archived
Process of deduplicating documents in the current MMOL solution
Persistent Identifier (PID) structure for the new solution and alignment with current GSQ process
New relationships and mapping between current organisations and tenures for implementation in the new solution
Identifying and documenting current companies and subsidiaries and linking these/documenting these for future state
Mapping and identifying current data and their associated fields and the new data model for the future state
Clean and validate data for migration
Data preparation and planning for the migration
Well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders and vendors to promote quality information exchange and collaboration across the project.
Experience in managing a work package, dealing with competing priorities, and mobilising resources to meet deadlines.
