Data Scientist | Risk Modelling

BridgeFund is seeking a proactive Data Scientist with experience in the Risk domain to join our team. Your primary focus will be to develop innovative risk models that calculate credit risk and help construct a healthy portfolio.

What will you do?

You will play a vital role in the financial health and growth of BridgeFund by building models that predict the credit risk that is associated with a borrower. By developing and implementing risk models, you will help our fast-growing FinTech company accurately predict default probabilities, assess customer creditworthiness, and devise effective risk management strategies. Your work will directly influence our ability to create a healthy loan portfolio and maintain financial stability. You'll also collaborate with various departments to ensure our risk models are aligned with overall business strategies and regulatory requirements.

What you will do:

• Analyse large and complex datasets to develop and continuously improve the aforementioned models
• Utilize machine learning and statistical modelling techniques
• Identify (external and internal hidden) datasets that potentially enhance BridgeFund’s risk models
• Collaborate with various teams to integrate risk models into lending decisioning processes and monitor their performance
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in risk modelling
• Communicate complex risk findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Stress our existing portfolio and give insights in the financial health of the organization
• Constructs a healthy portfolio where credit risks are managed and within our limits
• Provide best-in-class strategies to collect delinquent debt

What we expect from you:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a successful Data Science within the risk domain
• Proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modelling techniques.
• Strong experience with Python and its data science libraries (e.g., numpy, Pandas, scikit-learn, XGboost).
• Familiarity with Open Banking and its applications in risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to convey complex risk insights to a diverse audience
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing risk models in a financial services context
