The University is excited to announce that our IT department is expanding with the creation of a brand new Data Services team. We are going through a period of significant digital transformation, so this is a pivotal time to join us in one of these exciting positions to help create and shape the future data service for our University.
The University’s Chief Data Officer has expert knowledge of IT change and transformation and heads up a new Data Services team covering data architecture, modeling, and analysis, as well as data governance and quality specialists. This critical team will provide the analytical and data science expertise that will help enable our students to learn, conduct research, and help shape a better future for everyone through easy access and sharing of data in a collaborative environment.
The Data Services team will provide technical, legal and regulatory leadership and support and build analytical and data science capabilities that provide safe and secure (trusted) data environments for analysis and research. The team will enable access to and sharing of data for education, research and wider purposes and will collaborate with partners across the sector and beyond to ensure impact. It will require skills covering data architecture, modelling and analysis, as well as data governance and quality specialists. The role of the Data Analyst is to gather reporting requirements, develop reports and deliver them to the business. You will be self-directing but also work as part of a team and with colleagues in Data Services and colleagues across the University. You will be highly competent in handling and manipulating data to meet business requirements and developing reports using the approved reporting tools. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to support the conveying of complex concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
