The Mercy University Hospital is undergoing a process of infrastructure modernization and we are looking for a Data Scientist to lead the strategic design, implementation, support and integration of a new data analytics and business intelligence (BI) platform based on Microsoft Azure. This includes the development and delivery of predictive statistical models, high-level analytical reports and end-user self-service reporting tools.
The post holder will report to the Head of the ICT Department.
Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for;
Planning, designing and developing innovative data analytics and BI solutions.
Providing guidance for data quality and business reporting.
Developing and documenting coding and naming standards, templates and metadata.
Designing and managing development environment which facilitates change management by having comprehensive version control and structure
Providing technical and functional development of reporting solutions and data analysis.
Ensuring enterprise data environment is optimised to address business requirements by designing and creating tables, diagnosing and repairing user and performance issues, and testing, monitoring and tuning software.
Collaborating with the Local/Regional and National ICT teams in implementing business solutions.
Preparing training material for all business managers, power users, and end users.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, BIS, Business Administration, Computer Sciences/Information Technologies or related field.
Project Management certification desirable.
A minimum of six years experience in Information Technology working in an advanced business applications / data analytics / software engineering role.
Expert in Structure Query Language (SQL), ideally with MS SQL Server experience
Expert in one or more programming languages such as Python, R, C# or Java.
Experience in complex business applications, data discovery, dimensional modelling/data warehousing, relational databases, BI and Enterprise Reporting tools.
Experience with requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, software development and support methodologies.
Experience with BI metadata design and development as well as BI User Interface design and development such as interactive Dashboards and Scorecards.
Experience on Cloud based delivered services essential
Experience with web/cloud development using mobile technologies.
Previous administrative experience of at least 2 years
