A Senior Engineer to be part of a team focused on new features in the areas of Big Data, streaming, data analytic platforms. As part of a feature team the Big Data Engineer will participate in all aspects of solution development (architecture, design, development and testing) .


  • Hands-on experience with developing, debugging and supporting Big Data platforms

  • Hands-on experience with technical architecture, design, development and implementation of big data solutions

  • Hands-on experience with distributed systems, multi-threading

  • Hands-on experience building data p ipelines

  • Hands-on experience implementing machine learning algorithms.

  • Experience with mentoring and advising team members

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical members of the project team


  • 2+ years’ experience with Big Data Platforms

  • Experience working with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, Parquet, Ambari, Python, Scala, HBase, Ranger, Oozie

  • Experience in Java Object Oriented Programming experience

  • Experience with scalability analysis and performance monitoring and measuring techniques

  • Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure (Azure HD Insights) and considerations for scalable, distributed systems

  • 2+ years’ experience with software development best practices and design patterns

  • Must be able to quickly understand technical and business requirements and be able to translate into technical implementation
