The Opportunity


If you love creating business value by analyzing, modeling and visualizing data – we’ve got a fantastic opportunity for you. As Data Analyst you will directly report to the Director of Acquisitions, providing the data, reporting and analytics that will inform operational strategy in acquisition targets. With the support of AutoCanada’s Business Intelligence team, you will integrate newly acquired business units into the existing reporting environment, develop and refine valuation models and ensure that all potential opportunities are identified.

You work well with a broad group of people and communicate clearly every step of the way.


The Role

  • Develop highly effective, easily consumable and visually pleasing business intelligence products such as summary dashboards and analytical reporting around a variety of operational KPIs.

  • Design, develop and deliver BI reports in Tableau based on business needs.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of business strategy, strategic measures, KPIs financial goals, processes, and requirements across multiple business lines.

  • Develop forecasting models and conduct quantitative analyses.

  • Design defined performance metrics, contribute to corporate standard reporting formats and dashboards.

  • Elicit detailed requirements, define use cases and develop BI solutions to business problems.

  • Identify use cases for advanced analytics.

  • Organize, clean and set up data for reporting and analysis.


Your Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as analytics, business management, economics, statistics, computer science, information systems, specialized training/certification, or equivalent work experience.

  • 5-7 years of Business Intelligence, report development experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in Tableau (or similar visualization platform).

  • Experience mining, analyzing and interpreting data using data analysis technology, data modeling and programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, DAX, and MDX

  • Demonstrated ability to understand business objectives and requirements and convert them into solution designs and project plans.

  • Experience in report development and data analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent critical thinking skills.

  • Understanding of sound business principles.
