Are you passionate about education and inspired to build and support the data analytics infrastructure? Do you possess skills in the collection, management, analysis and visualisation of data?
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join an established team that will help deliver and support a robust, reliable data lake. Reporting to the Data Insights Leader, you will be creating an analytics foundation block, ‘connecting to’ and ‘collecting’ new and established data sources.
You will also be building and managing of data marts and data models and provide a clear view of data with descriptions and diagnostic analysis.
What your day will look like:
Efficient transfer of data from source systems to data lake.
Develop and refine ETL / API data ingestion patterns for both structured and semi structured data.
Lead the team in development practices ensuring reliable and maintainable patterns.
Translate analytics requirements into logical and physical models designs.
Build and maintain ETL / ELT patterns, transformations, naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
Monitor accuracy and availability of data marts. Identify risks / issues and create plan to mitigate.
Maintain a best practice approach to creation and maintenance of users / profiles / access to analytics tools and products.
Review and curate existing and new analytics technologies, providing advice to update or replace as necessary.
Work with infrastructure teams to ensure maintenance of analytics landscape does to impact business users and product teams.
Your skills and experience:
Knowledge of ETL architecture, infrastructure and experience with Informatica
Experience with API based transaction and bulk integrations with cloud-based platforms
Previous experience in data modelling, data warehousing, business intelligence capacity
Knowledge of database management practices, experience with AWS Redshift is an advantage
Ability to engage with platform development and architects to improve current data integrations
Exposure to Business Intelligence solutions such as GoodData, MarketingCloud, Excel Powerpivot is highly advantageous
