Role Overview:

The Senior Data Solution Architect/Cloud Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing data solutions that will enable us to make strategic decisions based on accurate and timely data. The successful candidate will be an expert in Azure Databricks and Snowflake and will be able to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality solutions. This role will be hands-on and you will work on a range of data projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implement data solutions using mainly but not exclusively Azure Databricks and Snowflake.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work with stakeholders to identify data quality issues and implement solutions to resolve them.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using ETL and ELT methodologies.
• Work with data engineers and data analysts to ensure that data is stored, processed and analyzed in a secure and efficient manner.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for data solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies.

Key Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in designing, developing and implementing data solutions.
• At least 5 years of experience working with Azure Databricks and Snowflake.
• Proven experience in working as a hands-on Cloud Data Engineer.
• Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines using ETL and ELT methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies.

Additional information:

Based on the candidate’s preference, the position can be located in Hydro’s locations in either Oslo/Norway, Budapest/Hungary or Drunen/the Netherlands.
