Data Engineer (100% remote)

Purpose of the role:

• Perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answer questions
• Build and optimize data sets, end-to-end implementation of data pipelines and architectures
• Build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
• Design and develop Glue ETL jobs that can accommodate diverse and complex data sources, highly complex transformations and merges.
• Support Atacana’s passion to bring forward innovation for the benefit of healthcare

• 
  5+ years of relevant work experience including front-end and back-end development
• Excellent analytic skills associated with working on unstructured datasets
• Data Quality, Enterprise Data Warehouse and Analytics, preferable in Pharma
• Experience with designing and implementing Data Lake (such as Azure, AWS) and associated services such as ingestion, curing, Self-service, and other internal and external consuming entities
• Exposure to multiple big data tools and technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Mango stack or similar) for evaluation against business goals, and deployment
• 3+ years as a Python, PySpark, SQL developer; building scalable ETL applications and data warehouses
• Advanced understanding of both SQL and NoSQL technologies, to preferably include AW Redshift
• Investigative mindset that enables them to troubleshoot issues with data systems and isolate defects in data software
• Excellent interpersonal communication to engage with team members to address technical problems or database needs
• Able to prioritize and coordinate work through interpretation of high-level goals and strategy
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in engineering or Information Technology field (Desired but not essential)
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be a plus, but is not required
