Job description

Data Engineer – Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics

Lundbeck is a global pharmaceutical company based in Copenhagen, Denmark. We are tirelessly dedicated to restoring brain health so every person can be their best.

We offer a great workplace based on a flat structure, and an informal and collaborative working environment based on respect and equality. We employ dedicated colleagues, encourage continuous development, and have a culture where each employee is respected and valued. Together, we create the ideal conditions for you and your job, so we can create better conditions for our patients.

Who and what will you be a part of?

You will join the BI & Advanced Analytics team that is currently consisting of 11 highly engaged colleagues. We bring products and services related to Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Advanced Analytics to our more than 5,500 colleagues around the world with the aim of democratizing data to deliver insights and drive performance. We are part of Digital Delivery in Global IT and we support Lundbeck’s full value chain – from early research, to development, production, sales, and supporting functions. You will report to the Head of BI & Advanced Analytics. The position is based in our Headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen.

What will you be working with?

We are on a data mesh inspired journey to set data free and transform the culture of working with data in Lundbeck. We are building Lundbeck's next generation data platform and envision a modular data stack built on modern technology in a domain-oriented architecture. Every brain in the game is needed and we are now looking for the next great data engineer to join our growing team. Collaboration is key in our department, and you will act as change agent between Global IT and Line of Business to continuously increase value of the collaboration. Therefore, some of your tasks will require you to work closely with data scientists and data analysts as well as other stakeholders in Line of Business to translate defined needs into analytical capabilities. And you will also collaborate with colleagues in Global IT to help shape Lundbeck’s modern data platform and be part of building Lundbeck’s future data capabilities in cross-functional teams.

But that is not all! As our newly graduated Data Engineer you will apply your knowledge and help us evolve and promote the use of the newly established digital data platform and help enforce data principles and best practices to increase the value of data throughout Lundbeck – such as the “FAIR Data Principles”. Furthermore, you will help us with maintaining design, development, and automation of data pipelines.

You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • A relevant education within Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management, Statistics, or similar
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably SQL or Python
  • An agile mindset and experience with Scrum

Your colleagues or fellow students would describe you as someone who is:

  • Curious and able to quickly absorb new knowledge across different disciplines
  • A team-player who likes to work in collaborative environments
  • Drive and willingness to take ownership and responsibility – also for tasks outside your comfort zone

We hope you are intrigued!
