Job Description

• A vacancy for a Senior Data Scientist in Airbus Detection and Response Department has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft. You will join the Cyber Security Department.
• About Cyber Security in Airbus:
• Security is not an option, be part of it!
• Today, governments, companies and private individuals are increasingly the target of attacks like theft of intellectual property, sensitive information and even money.
• Last year Norton Cybercrime Report estimated a global cost of cybercrime around 150 billion Euros.
• Airbus Group is more and more at risk due to its leading position in the market and the additional risks coming from the Extended Enterprise. We have been facing malware attacks which have become more and more sophisticated over the last months.
• IT Security measures can do a lot, but each of us, as Airbus employees, are the first line of defense.
• Airbus Corporate Detection and Response team has a number of best-in-class missions and objectives including:
• CERT activities such as Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting & Anticipation and Incident Response
• SOC activities such as strategy for; continuous monitoring, detection, and analysis of potential intrusions in real time and through historical trending on security-relevant data sources to provide situational awareness and reporting on cybersecurity status and incidents. Improving the links between CERT and SOC activities is key to manage and investigate escalated cyber incidents to support in times of declared crisis (managed by crisis team and processes)
• Insider Protection : A user-name and password are no longer sufficient to identify users and ensure all actions performed from internal accounts are legitimate. The Insider protection team is looking at other means such as user activity analysis via innovative technologies to build up a more comprehensive picture of our users and identify the intruders. Traditional enterprises identity based on username and password based credentials with a safe perimeter. As perimeter concept weakens, we need to track user behavior, context (activity, location etc) and device trust, as additional means of risk based user authentication

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team!

Insider Protection is a team included in the Cyber Security Defense & Response Department. Our goal is to develop and implement a new and innovative detection capability through the use of big data and machine learning, starting from Insider detection and then opening to a wider scope to all Detection & Response.

Mission

To transform data into actionable insights for product performance, business and market intelligence; operational diagnosis and pronostics. Input: Internal and External Data and business problems. Output: easy-to-understand insights and visualization. interfaces that are related to the Development life cycle.

Main Activities

• Based on the stated or anticipated business needs, understand and perform their mapping into the problem space of statistics, machine learning and AI.
• Based on data modelling provided by IT, with a focus on business needs, extract and integrate both structured and unstructured data from various databases/data-stores with the help of Data Analysts; Analyze the statistical properties of the data and use the scientific methods to find adequate existing or create novel solution proposals based on statistics, machine learning of artificial intelligence techniques.
• Run controlled experiments to find the best solution. Implement the solution based on state of the art algorithms using best practices from software engineering.
• Create protocols for monitoring the accuracy of models against business needs.
• Pro-actively contribute to the creation of and re-use of industrial-level AI solutions.
• Actively contribute and share best practices, findings, and techniques with the wider data community.
  
  

Skills Required

• B.Sc.in Computer Science or Telecommunications Eng., Bsc. of Mathematics / in Physics.
• Experience within Data Science: 3-4 years
• Advanced knowledge of Python oriented to data analysis /data science
• Knowledge of integration tools (Github, Gitlab) and continuous integration (Gitflow)
• Machine learning and mathematics
• Software development at a productive level
• Unsupervised Machine Learning Techniques (Outlier Detection) is a plus
• English: Upper intermediate level
• Soft Skills: Proactive, teamworkerm, analytic, attention to detail, etc.
