Data Analyst - Global Product Supply Chain

This position will work with large, complex data sets and apply business logic and data techniques to develop solutions and reporting. A successful candidate will be a fearless data explorer who enjoys data wrangling, a resourceful problem solver who is energized by difficult business problems.

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with business, IT, and analytics community to capture, prioritize, and document data analytic requirements and drive measurable results.
  • Creation and implementation of queries, compiling data, manipulated data from separate sources to form unified sets for analysis.
  • Query development to address adhoc and standard reporting request
  • Establishment and maintenance of all internal SharePoint tracking reports
  • Problem Solving activities to help identify gaps in claim to supplier assignment, claim end to end processing (Life of a claim) and system inaccuracies
  • System testing to identify necessary logic corrections
  • Collaborate with global cost recovery teams to align communication and reporting
  • Identify business challenges and develop analytical solutions to optimize business processes.
  • Partner with business teams to understand the requirements of new business initiatives.
  • Present analytical approaches and results to internal audiences by synthesizing complex data and concepts into easy-to comprehend, comprehensive, and cohesive presentations.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in Analytics or Business Intelligence.
  • Experience with database and data warehousing platforms (MS Access, SQL Developer, Greenplum, HUE, Hadoop)
  • Excellent knowledge of SharePoint development, document management, and productivity (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint) tools
  • Deep understanding of BI tools: Excel, Reporting Tool Consumption (MS Power BI, Cognos, Tableau)
  • Strong business domain knowledge - business analytics, marketing data, automotive and understanding the exponential change within this domain are paramount to success
  • Thrive in a collaborative atmosphere and believe in the power of innovation through differing viewpoints

FOR GM INTERNAL CANDIDATES: This role is listed as a 6th and 7th level profile within the GPSC organization. The determination as to whether an offer will be lateral or promotional will be based on a candidate's relevant experience as well as the amount of increase in the level of responsibility.
