As a Data Scientist, you’ll be tasked with leveraging structured and unstructured data sources to drive business outcomes. You’ll develop custom data models and algorithms as well as predictive models to increase and optimize customer experiences. Beyond the data, you’ll also have the opportunity to communicate these complex statistical analyses to non-technical stakeholders with both actionable insights and compelling stories.


  • Guide and inspire the organization about data science business potential and strategy
  • Identify data-driven business opportunities and recommend analytic projects to leaders
  • Understand business objectives, defining modeling goals, and evaluating analytical approaches
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen
  • Discover and document new data sources and process pipelines
  • Assist with the transformation of raw data into data sets and pipelines for more efficient and repeatable data science projects
  • Apply statistical analysis and visualization techniques to various data, such as hierarchical clustering, t-SNE, PCA, etc.
  • Create and test hypotheses and experiments using various quantitative methods to understated business processes
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain predictive models from structured and unstructured data
  • Use artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop processes automation
  • Ensure accuracy of results by testing of models with methods such as cross-validation, A/B testing, bias and fairness, etc.
  • Communicate complex statistical analyses in an understandable manner for non-technical stakeholders and provide insights through compelling stories
  • Uncover hidden insights by training mathematical models to allow for better pattern identification and more accurate predictions
  • Collaborate with data engineers and IT resources to evaluate and implement model deployment options
  • Monitor execution and health of production models
  • Provide technical mentoring and training to peers and staff in statistical modeling and data science techniques
  • Commit to continuous professional improvement and displaying a desire to learn the new and different (through conferences, publications, courses, local academia and meetups)
  • Promote collaboration with other data science teams and encouraging reuse of artifacts
  • Make recommendations for products and services to support enterprise data science goals
  • Participate in development of analytics roadmap by evaluating and incorporating standards, best practices, and new technologies


  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field or equivalent work experience is required. A PhD is preferred
  • Experience leveraging structured and unstructured data sources to drive business outcomes.
  • Expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, statistics, multi-variable calculus, and linear algebra
  • Demonstrated knowledge when to apply predictive modeling techniques such as logistic regression, time series, neural networks, random forest, boosting, text mining, clustering, deep learning, optimization, etc.
  • Proficiency in analytical programming languages like SAS, R, and Python
  • Experience exploring and manipulating large amounts of data using structured query language (SQL)
  • Deep experience in feature selection and feature engineering, hyper-parameter tuning, unsupervised learning methods, and other techniques for optimizing models
  • Superior analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including storytelling and other methods to guide and inspire
  • Drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
