Data Scientist - Financial Modelling and Analytics

Job description


  • Enabling retail lending businesses to achieve growth outcomes via analytical strategy.
  • Develop financial frameworks such as valuation models-life time valuations, pricing strategy, budgeting, etc.
  • Preparing product valuations for new launches.
  • Ability to understand business P& L components and various drivers such as COF, NIM, provisioning, etc.
  • Define data requirements for creating a model and understanding the business problem.
  • Clean, aggregate, analyze, interpret data, and carry out quality analysis of it.
  • Set up data for predictive/prescriptive analysis.
  • Development of statistical/econometric models.
  • Working along with the team members.
  • Looking for insight and creating a presentation to demonstrate these insights.


  • Masters in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, and Business Administration. CA, ICWA, or Engineering graduate from a reputed college.
  • Other graduates from reputed colleges with financial certifications such as CFA level II/III, FRM, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in Analytics Tools - R/Python/SQL/SAS.
  • Experience in financial modeling and framework - DCF, NPV, RARAOC, and valuation models.
  • Good understanding of P& L drivers such as cost, revenue streams, COF, and NIM.
  • Data-driven business insights - Data Preparation, Data Exploration, financial modeling, and strategy implementation.
  • 4-8 years of experience in analytics preferably in the Financial Services (Retail lending) industry, but not mandatory.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling.
  • Conversant in Python/SQL.
