As a Principal Data Engineer, you will work closely with the other Principal Consultants to lead the Data Engineer cell and be a people manager engaged with promoting the happiness, growth, and development of our data engineer colleagues.

As a Principal Data Engineer Consultant, you are responsible for implementing the foundations of data-intensive systems. You develop enabling infrastructure to store, transform, and process data at scale and in the cloud. You ensure that data is stored safely and securely using the technology you see fit for the job. As well as coaching fellow data engineers, organizing events (like Meetups), and promoting the DE cell – inside and outside of Xebia Data.

What you will do to make data-intensive applications work effectively and securely?

With your knowledge of software engineering, cloud, clusters, queues, containers, streaming, or graphs, you work on the backbone of the data infrastructure. There is lots of data to store, many jobs to run and schedule, and many configurations to deal with. You work with the client in teams that are a mix of people from Xebia Data and the client and pick up the work that is related to the backbone on which the team is building.

Who Are We Looking For?

The Data Engineer role is a senior position with a central role in our clients' teams, and therefore we require at least 2 years of relevant professional experience. Having said that, we like to be amazed: so if you have done something outstanding during your studies, like contributing to open source projects or starting your own company, we encourage you to apply no matter what the level of your experience is.
