What We're Looking For


  • 3+ years of work experience with data pipelines, streaming data sets, ETL packages, and data modelling
  • Excellent skills in writing and optimising SQL
  • Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure, AWS Lambda, S3, Redshift, and Pentaho, or similar
  • Coding skills using Java, Python, or similar
  • Ability to design dimensional models/star schemas to meet analytics requirements
  • Experience of the Agile software development lifecycle and DevOps delivery, including source control management, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment and automated testing
  • Ability to gather requirements and translate these to technical requirements
  • Effective communication skills in English. Ability to collaborate with colleagues with and without technical expertise

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Work with Data Services colleagues to ensure that modifications to the system and software architecture through project delivery are appropriate for operations, scalability, security, performance, deployment and maintenance
  • Translate business requirements to design, document, build and deploy effective data pipelines and ETL solutions
  • Participate in team refinement sessions and contribute to agile approach and practices
  • Ensure script, configuration and code quality and efficiency is appropriate and improved upon, as well as technical standards and best practice guidelines are adhered to within the Engineering teams through peer reviews, testing, and feedback
  • Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement to increase efficiency, quality and reduction in development lead time (from analysis to production release)
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line data platform support
  • Mentoring relevant colleagues to ensure data platform knowledge is shared throughout the business
