Compensation: $65,000 - $97,000 (based on the number of years experience)
Manages the process and thought leadership of credit union data. Facilitates the movement and import of data through the credit unions azure cloud architecture. Collaborates with business units to understand data needs and create resources and their upkeep lifecycles.
Monitors data collection across organization to ensure accurate relevant data are made available to facilitate reporting for goals and business metrics.
Oversees ETL software and modeling data warehouse and cube designs. Analyzes, tests, and validates results, generates reports and dashboards, and addresses user questions. Monitors, maintains, and optimizes performance and scheduling of ETL processes. Troubleshoots and appropriately addresses issues with data warehouse and ETL processes. Administers access and maintains security and permissions across data warehouse infrastructure. Helps design, optimize, and troubleshoot data warehouse schemas and data warehouse cube architecture. Writes, reviews, and maintains documentation describing all elements of data warehouse and cube design (including standards, functionality, logic, deployment and implementation procedures, time estimates, and test plans).
Stays up-to-date on emerging cloud technologies both in PaaS as well as enhanced features with used technologies. Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake, etc.
Assists in development of key performance indicators and associated tracking, to gather and document reporting business requirements, and to build, test and implement reporting needs.
Reviews performance against Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators and informs leadership so that appropriate interventions occur to address and meet changing needs and business priorities.
Provides technical assistance to end-users and technical staff regarding system and reporting issues. Trains end-users and technical support staff on data warehouse applications and reporting services.
Reviews and recommends new methods and procedures to make daily operations more efficient. Performs considerable short-term planning, scheduling, and coordinating within area of responsibility.
Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Assigns work and delegates responsibilities to staff and monitors progress to ensure department goals are met and high-quality member service is maintained. Hires, trains, coaches, appraises, and rewards assigned staff. Responds appropriately to employee complaints and issues. Cultivates strong working relationships and builds trust among team members.
Assists higher level management with developing and implementing and creating data to facilitate long term and short term business objectives. Interprets and implements management policies for area of responsibility.
Assists higher level management with department budget development, monitoring, and maintenance.
Assists higher level management with regulatory compliance to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with applicable laws and government regulations.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
5 or more year’s progressively responsible experience in SQL and Python. Extensive documentation experience and agile methodology preferred. Previous experience with a financial institution is preferred. Previous supervisory experience required.
Advanced technical skills including SQL, Python, Delta Lake, and Data Lakes. Azure or AWS knowledge is required. A solid understanding of the Data Engineering and the styles, methods, and architecture required. Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL.
Strong organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem solving skills in order to effectively manage area of responsibility and attain goals set. Able to resolve difficult problems and situations.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
Strong knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to communicate policies, practices, and procedures for clarity and understanding by direct reports and other stakeholders.
